Peshtigo Finishes 5th At Indoor Track Meet; Marines Get Started
Totaling 25 points, the Peshtigo Bulldogs claimed a fifth place finish at the 22-team boys Oshkosh Invitational held inside the Kolf Center on Thursday, March 20.
Seymour won the the Division 2 portion of the meet with a score of 97 followed by Little Chute 89, Freedom 82, Xavier 39 and Peshtigo 25. Oconto Falls tied for 21st place with 4 points.
The Bulldogs had a pair of top four finishers in the shot put as Zach Neumann was 3rd with a toss of 462 and Jordan Berth fourth at 451. Levi Sanborn claimed 4th place in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.09, Aaron Bhatoya was 4th in the 800 meter run at 2:06.23, Tyler Nault 8th in the 3200 run at 10:52.38 while the 1600 relay team claimed sixth place.
Oconto Falls saw Mike Friedman finish 5th in the 1600 meter run 4:44.27, Mike Fifield 9th in the 800 2:13.36 and Alex Young 10th in the 400 meters.
In the D-3 bracket, Princeton-Green Lake was first at 72, Dodgeland tallied 64 and Reedsville 52. Gillett claimed 11th place with 17 points and Suring 12th at 16.
Topping the list of Gillett finishers were Max Zeitler second in the 3200 at 10:47.35, Evan Bubolz 6th in the 8002:17.81, Alex Zeitler 7th triple jump 3510 and 11th 800 meters, Leeland Kahler 7th 1600 in 5:20.33 and the 1600 relay team claiming 7th place.
Suring saw John Christensen post a 4th place height of 56 in the high jump, Parker Wanish 6th 400 meters 58.20, Creo VanBellinger 6th 60 meters 7.72, Tyler Herning 8th shot put 377 and Grant Fischer 8th at 1600 in 5:21.27.
Marines Notch Pair
Of 1st Place Finishes
Getting the indoor track season underway Tuesday, the Marinette Marines saw the girls claimed third place at the 4-team West DePere meet with 36 points and the boys fourth 11.
The Marinette girls swept the shot put as Megan Wagner hurled the steel ball 364.5 for first place followed by Emily Conley 354.5 and Morgan Florek 337.5.
Marinette went one-two in the high jump as Lynsee Bohan and Olivia Alloy both went 5-feet. Alloy was also the runner-up in the 55 meter hurdles at 9.87 and third in the triple jump 325.75.
The Marines 4-lap relay team was second with a 1:32 clocking.
In the boys event, Marinette had a trio of third place finishes including Davon Malone in the 200 at 26.59 along with the 20 lap and 4 lap relay teams.
Peyton Boyce finished fourth in the shot put with a toss of 378.5.
Lena Struggles At
Oconto Falls Meet
The Lena boys totaled 20.5 points as Roy OHarrow earned first place finishes in the 45 yard dash and long jump while Blaik Fisher claimed the triple jump at the Oconto Falls indoor meet Tuesday.
In the girls portion of the meet, Oconto Falls won 7 events for 78 points and the win.
