Chester W. Johnson Jr.
Chester W. Johnson Jr., 68, passed away Friday, March 21 due to heart complications, in the care of the UW Hospital in Madison.
He served for 13 years in the United States Army, with three tours in Vietnam and was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star of Heroism.
An active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the Lions Club of Niagara and the American Legion, his hobbies were hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Besie Marie Johnson, of Niagara; three children, Shelia and Brett Ayers and Chester W. Johnson III, both of Iron Mountain and youngest daughter, Eva and Aaron Ring, of Madison; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chester W. Johnson; his mother, Claire Woods; sisters, Claudette Hendrickson, of Florida and Cemone Anderson, of Crystal Falls.
Funeral services and arrangements will be announced at a later date.
