Richard J. Schmidt, 85, of Crivitz passed away Saturday, March 29 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born Nov. 14, 1928 in Kaukauna, he married Jean Natrop on Sept. 15, 1951. He owned and operated the Wheel Inn for 30 years.
He loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing, fishing and ATV riding. He organized the Iron Snow Shoe Club and the Thunder Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his children, Deborah Erickson, of Kaukauna, Louise (William) Antepenko, of Lecanto, Fla., Dale Schmidt and Lee Schmidt, both of Crivitz; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Buddy and two grandchildren, Shaun and Lee Jr.
Friends called at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, Crivitz on Tuesday, April 1 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation continued Wednesday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m.
