THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
From our readers
Letter to the Editor:
I am writing this after reading about the Crivitz School Boards March 19 meeting in the Peshtigo Times regarding the cell phone incident and the way Crivitz School handled it.
My husband and I have no children or grandkids in the Crivitz School system so our only source of information about the whole situation is this P.T. article. We have, however, known the families of two of the girls for many years and they are all hardworking, caring and involved parents. For these teens to be interrogated by school personnel and the police without involving the parents until three days into it is unacceptable, especially in a small town where everybody knows everybody.
These girls are consistently on the High Honor Roll and involved in both their school and community, but after one incident they are punished immediately. Guilty until proven innocent......is this the schools new one step discipline policy? Then to have the Police Officer conclude there was nothing but girls being girls in the locker room.
What outcome was the school hoping to accomplish by taking away every one of these girls character building extracurricular activities and what kind of message does this send to their fellow students.
Again, my views are based solely on last weeks article.
