Grover School Takes Old Shoes
St. John's Lutheran School will have a shoe drive to raise funds, support microenterprise in developing nations, and help the environment until May 15. They hope to collect 2500 pairs of shoes.
Individuals can donate gently worn, used shoes at Peshtigo Pharmacy, Zion Lutheran Church, and St. John Lutheran Church or School, Peshtigo, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Coleman.
In the United States alone, approximately 630 million pairs of shoes are thrown away annually. All donated shoes will be redistributed to microenterprise partners through Funds2Orgs and used in developing nations for impoverished people to start, maintain, and grow a unique business opportunity to feed, clothe, and house their families.
The campaign will raise funds to benefit St. John Lutheran School for music and athletic funding.
