Ruth M. Henschel
Ruth M. Henschel, 98, of Marinette, formerly of Menominee, Mi., passed away Saturday, April 12 at Linden Grove Nursing Home in Menomonee Falls.
Born March 31, 1916 in Plymouth, to Adam and Emma (Klingsporn) Becker, she married Raymond Doc Henschel on April 18, 1936 in Elkhart Lake. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1980. After his death, she became an active volunteer for BAMC Auxiliary, and Menominee Historical Society.
She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, camping and fishing. A member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, she was very kind and well known and was active in the Priscilla circle. She was also a member of the Woman's Club and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita (Ray) Lubenow, of Grand Rapids, Mi. and Mary (Paul) Tjaden, of Milwaukee; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Hermina Becker, of Menomonee Falls and a sister-in-law, Myrtle Henschel, of Kiel.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice.
Family and friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Tuesday, April 22 after 10 a.m. until time of a funeral service at noon. Pastor Lee Goodwin will officiate with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee. Anderson Kell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
