Gerald W. Polasky
Gerald W. Polasky, 74, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Wednesday, April 9, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
Born Oct. 12, 1939 in Menominee, to Orville and Dorothy (Madsen) Polasky, he served in the United States Navy from 1957-1960. On May 30, 1961, he married the former Nancy Shaw in New London. He owned and operated Holiday Wrecking and Towing until his retirement in 2010.
He enjoyed traveling with his R.V. and wintering in Arizona. Mostly, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. A member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, he was chairman of the Menominee Veterans Council and Past Commander of VFW Post 1887.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of Menominee, Mi.; a son, Douglas (Amy) of Green Bay; two daughters, Kim (Mark) Bradford, of Schoolcraft, Mi. and Kathy (Ed) Dettling, of Webberville, Mi. and four grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Wilke and a brother, John Polasky.
Family and friends called at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 15 after 9 a.m. until time of military rites at 10:30 a.m. A memorial mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. officiated by Fr. Richard Allen with burial in Birch Creek Cemetery. Anderson Kell Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Donations can be made in his name for the B.P.
