David W. Walker
David W. Tubby Walker, 57, of Marinette, passed away Saturday evening, April 12 at Bay Area Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer.
Born July 8, 1956, to Bernice and Greg Bud Walker of Marinette, he graduated from Marinette High School in 1975. He worked at Marinette Marine Corp. as a journeyman plumber/pipefitter and then for the Upper Peninsula Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 400. He married the former Deb Harteau on June 26, 1976.
A member of Holy Family Parish, he will be remembered for his quick wit and ability to make others laugh. He enjoyed spending hours in his garage, doing woodworking and special times at camp.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debra; a son, Adam and daughter, Melissa and was awaiting the arrival of his first grandson. He is further survived by brothers, Greg (Shirley) Walker, Tom (Linda) Walker and Stephen (Deb) Walker; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Laurie Hetland, Cyndi (Dennis) Bubolz, Darcy (Jim) Lucaszka and J (Keesha) Smith; his mother-in-law, Marie Smith; step-mother, Barb Walker; many nieces; nephews; aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; fathers-in-law, Richard W. Smith and Raymond C. Harteau and a step-brother, Mike Walker.
Friends called at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette from 3 p.m. until time of a Parish Vigil at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, led by Deacon Jerome Thetreau. A Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16 at Holy Family Parish-Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Taylor St., by Rev. Joseph Dorner, with burial in Forest Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bay Area Medical Center Oncology Fund.
