Town Wausaukee Okays Variances, Weight Limits
WausaukeeVariances for two mobile homes, special or seasonal weight limits on certain roads and seeking bids for road construction were among items of business when the Wausaukee Town Board met Tuesday, April 15. The one hour meeting was held prior to the annual meeting which was at 7 p.m.
Absent from the meeting was Supervisor 2 David Tomasino. Others present besides the board were Jack and Penny Pociask, Jack Zore, Steve and Judy Sargent and Sierra Erdmann.
Prior to the meeting, Clerk Cheryl Stumbris gave the oath of office to re-elected Supervisor 3 Kurt Stumbris and Supervisor 4 Dennis Taylor.
By a vote of 3 to 1, the Board approved the request of Sierra Erdmann who addressed the Board on behalf of her father, Rick Erdman, with a request for variance to bring in a 1995 Liberty mobile home refurbished by North Country Homes. It will replace a 1969 Marshfield which will be removed from the property.
The Board also approved the request of Steve and Judy Sargent for a variance to bring in a 1978 double wide mobile home and the previous structure will be removed.
In other action, the Board approved the request of Supervisor Dennis Taylor for an ordinance regarding weight limits on Skory Road, Hillside Road, Long Lake Road, Old 38 Road. The ordinance establishes special or seasonal weight limits on the roads.
Chairman Jeff Engelmann presented a tentative plan for Road construction for 2014 with a final plan to be made at later date. Request for bids will be posted and bids will be opened at the May 13 Board meeting. The town will be accepting bids for blacktopping with hot or cold mix paver laid 2-inch compacted, price per ton blacktop seal coating per mile 20-feet wide. Approved was the report of Treasurer Sally Hultquist showing balance on hand as of March 31 of $16,630.15 in checking and $294,956.01 in the money market account.
In other business, the Board:
* After verifying all costs, agreed to pick up the 2015 International truck.
* Received a letter from Dan Trinko acknowledging the Town road crew for all their efforts throughout the recent months. Also their response time in emergency situations was outstanding and very much appreciated.
* Set the Board of Review for Tuesday, May 13 at 6:59 p.m. and will immediately adjourn to a later date.
