THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Plan Workshop At Goodman Library
Issue Date: April 24, 2014
Growing your own vegetables can be a tasty and nutritious hobby but with options ranging from early season salad greens to full season crops such as tomatoes, winter squash, and potatoes, there are multiple crops for the home gardener to consider.
There are challenges in home vegetable gardens. In an effort to help understand the options and management practices, UW-Extension of Marinette County and the Goodman Library will offer a beginner vegetable gardening workshop.
The workshop will be hosted by the Goodman Library on Thursday, April 24 at 6 p.m. Discussed will be garden site selection, soil preparation, vegetable species and cultivar selection, proper planting, in-season plant management, and plant pests.
There is no cost to attend and UW-Extension publications will be available free. If questions, contact Scott Reuss at the Marinette County UW-Extension office, 715-732-7510.
If need of accommodations to participate, contact Scott or Gina at 715-732-7510 at least 24 hours prior to the event. All requests will be kept confidential.
