Susan Marie (Strem) Homa, 61, of Menominee, Mi., passed away on Tuesday, April 15.
Born Feb. 24, 1953, to Arnold and Elaine Strem, she graduated from Menominee High School in 1971 and St. Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in Peoria, Ill. in 1976. In her 35 year nursing career, she worked at Pineview (now Rennes East) in Peshtigo, the psychiatric inpatient facility at Northpointe Behavioral Center in Menominee, Mi. and Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette.
With pride in being a momma bear to her two daughters, Erin and Ashley, she encouraged them with hand written cards and letters that will be cherished. She loved animals and spoiled her dogs and cats through the years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and listening to her favorite music on sunny days in her yard. She was a fan of the Michigan State Spartans, UConn Huskies and Green Bay Packers. She was compassionate, generous and had a good sense of humor.
She is survived by two daughters, Erin (Mike) McLeod, of Rochester Hills, Mi. and Ashley Steffen, of Lansing, Mi.; two sisters, Julie Foley, of Menominee, Mi. and Wendy Strem, of Menomonee Falls; many nieces; nephews; cousins and close friends and colleagues.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Elaine Strem.
A Memorial Service was held on Friday noon, April 18 until 2 p.m. at Cadieu Thielen Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life followed from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Boom Co. Saloon, 501 6th Ave., Menominee, Mi.
