Rose C. Sanchez, 96, of Oconto passed away Saturday, April 26 at the Woodlands of Oconto.
Born Aug. 30, 1917, to Dave and Laura (Phifer) Wilson in Colorado, she married Fred Sanchez in Aguilar on Sept. 12, 1937 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 1961. In January of 1962, she married Max Sanchez, Fred's brother and he preceded her in death in May of 1983.
She was a devoted wife, mother and daughter, caring for her parents in their sickness and old age. She had a strong work ethic and taught herself to sew. She became a skilled seamstress and made clothes and wedding gowns. She lived in Aguilar, Co. most her life until she moved to Wisconsin in 2005 to be closer to her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Cecilia (Dale) Bloch, of Peshtigo; a step daughter, Geri Potts, of Castro Valley, Ca.; two granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews and a special nephew, Daniel Borrego, who helped care for her.
In addition to her husbands, Fred and Max, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Delores and two sisters, Josephine Borrego and Dorothy Armijo.
Funeral services will be held at a later date at Comi Funeral Home in Trinidad, Co., with burial in Trinidad Catholic Cemetery. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family locally.
