Marinette Middle School Bowling Club To State
After competing at the sectional on Tuesday, the Marinette Middle School Bowling Club will be heading to the Wisconsin Middle School State Tournament on May 3 at The Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley in Green Bay. Their presence will be shown as both the boys and girls teams qualifying along with 8 students in the singles division.
After competing in the Green Bay Middle School Bowling Conference for the past 6 weeks, the Marinette boys team came out on top with an 8-1 record for the season while the girls team took second place also with an 8-1 record. Both teams will be bowling at 1:30 p.m. at Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley on May 3.
The Marinette team is comprised of students from Marinette, Peshtigo and Menominee middle school students.
Representing the team at the state event will be Devin Behnke and Ryan Dura from Marinette, Cole Hoffman from Menominee and Tyler Lund, Mitchell Ahrens and Jared Madsen from Peshtigo.
The girls team will include Lily Pomplun, Katie Hruska and Lyndsay Ebsch of Marinette, along with Autumn Erickson from Menominee and Olivia Engman and Meiah Beck from Peshtigo.
In the singles competition, Lily Pomplun, along with seven of the boys will be competing. Boys qualifying for the singles are Tyler Lund, Mitchell Ahrens, Cole Hoffman, Devin Behnke, Jared Madsen and Dylan Woodworth of Marinette and Michael Gaillard of Menominee.
These individuals bowled head to head with all the other keglers in the conference to determine who would compete in the state competition.
This is a great achievement and shows the hard work these young men and women put forth all year! said Ryan Schoen, head coach of the team. I am very proud of each and everyone of them!
