Richard J. Banach, Sr.
Richard J. Banach, Sr., 82, of South Milwaukee, a former Peshtigo resident, died Monday, May 5 after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease.
A former AC Spark Plug employee, he retired as a UPS semi driver. He was a member of Teamsters Local 344 and Moose Lodge 49 and was active in AFS, Lutheran Brotherhood and Divine Mercy Parish.
Survivors include his wife, the former Darlene Schnell of 57 years; children, Richard (Lisa) Banach, Jr. and Diane (Mary Ehmke) Banach; a sister, Helen Suminski of Peshtigo, five grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Martha Banach, and brothers, Stanley and Walter.
Visitation will be at the Max A. Sass & Sons South Shore Chapel on Thursday, May 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. with funeral service at 11 a.m. Private entombment will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Divine Mercy Parish or the Parkinsons Association are appreciated.
