THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Robert Bob Beauparlant, 90, passed away Wednesday, May 7 at D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans Home in Marquette, Mi., where he resided since 2006.
Born May 5, 1924, in Iron Mountain, Mi., son of Clara (Allard) and Wilfred Beauparlant, he moved to Menominee and graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Marinette in 1941. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Margaret Quick in 1947. He then married Beverly Brault in 1976 and worked at Ansul Chemical Company, retiring in 1986.
An avid Green Bay Packer fan, he enjoyed golfing and spending winters in Orange Beach, Ala.
He is survived by his children, Mary (John) Bestul, of Waupun, Kathleen (John) Shaw, of Renton, Wa., John, serving with the Peace Corp in Armenia and Jane (Robert) Hutchens, of Gwinn, Mi.; step-children, Terry (Debbie) Brault, of Green Bay, Tom (Vicki) Brault, of DePere, Tim Brault, of Sun Prairie, Todd (Wendy) Brault, of Menominee, Ted (Kathy) Brault, of Richfield, Mn. and Luanne (Jon) Brault, of Plymouth, Mn.; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; step-great grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn Hebert, of Menominee; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Beverly in 2006 and a brother-in-law, John Hebert.
Visitation took place at Cadieu Thielen Funeral home on Sunday, May 11 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Vigil Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. with Father Mark McQuesten presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for the repose of his soul at Resurrection Church on Monday, May 12 at 11 a.m., with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery with Military Honors by the Military 20 Year Club.
