Evelyn F. Wallace, 86, Wausaukee, formerly of Amberg, passed away Wednesday May 7. She was born in Elkhart, Ind. on March 21, 1928, daughter of the late Harvey and Iva (Perry) Kent and daughter-in-law of the late George and Ruth Wallace. She graduated from Amberg High School, and married Walter K. Wallace on Jan. 10, 1948, in Beaver.
She worked with her husband in family businesses including the Sawmill, Christmas tree lots and Evelyn 's Wreathes. She also worked at retail stores that included Smiths Market, Red Owl and Meals on Wheels. She was civic minded and held numerous positions in the American Legion Auxiliary and was a lifelong member of the Amberg Presbyterian Church. She will be known as a loving wife and mother, strong person, very dependable, and for her famous baked beans.
Survivors include three children, Carmen Philipps of Wausaukee, Warren Buzz Wallace of Amberg, and Lisa (Michael) Tracy of Wausaukee; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; siblings, Carl Kent, Chuck (Sue) Kent, Ron (Esther) Kent, Donna (Bud) Swathwood, Ruth (Charles) Estes, and Robert Kent; a brother-in-law, Ken (Rose) Wallace; sisters-in-law, Heraldine (James) Fronsoe, Shirley Kent, and Dorothy Kent; special niece, Bonnie; close family friends, Bill and Em Irish; and numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; four brothers, Roy (Issie), Kenny (Maycell), Harvey Jr. and Lloyd (Dorothy); two sisters, Agnes (Newt) and Thelma (Art).
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday May 13 at Messar-Roubal Funeral Home with Pastor Don Landwehr officiating. Visitation was 4:30 to 7:30 pm on Monday and again on Tuesday from 10 to 11 am, all at the funeral home. Interment was in the Amberg Cemetery.
Messar-Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee assisted the family with arrangements.
