Gwendolyn J. Zorn

Gwendolyn "Gwendy" J. (Kamps) Zorn, 86, of Oshkosh passed away peacefully at home and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 14, 2014.

Gwendy was born on June 3, 1927, in Milwaukee to Theodore "Sam" and Harriet (Berth) Kamps and baptized on July 10, 1927. At age 9 she moved with her family to their farm in Coleman, spent her remaining childhood there, and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at age 14. She married Orval R. Zorn on May 4, 1946, at St. John 's Lutheran Church in the Town of Grover. They lived in Wisconsin until 1972 when they moved to California, living in Huntington Beach, Anza, and Sun City. They returned to Eau Claire in 2007 and she moved to Oshkosh in the spring of 2010.

Gwendy enjoyed dancing with the love of her life, listening to polkas, playing card and dice games, gardening, sewing, crocheting, reading romance novels, and her favorite was singing hymns of praise in church. She was a loving wife, nurturing mother, and fun-filled grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Gwendy is survived by four sons: Dennis (Elizabeth), of Oshkosh; Wayne (CeCelia), of Eau Claire; Dale (Barbara), of Costa Mesa, CA; and Ward (Janice), of Tustin, CA; six grandchildren: Stephanie, Kristin (Jon) Gage, Kevin, Brandon, Brieana (Jeremy) Searcy, and Mackenna; five great-grandchildren: Kayla, Conner, Gavin, Emma, and Ethan; two brothers, Russell Kamps, of Crivitz, WI; and Eugene Kamps, of Ocala, FL; brother-in-law, Leonhard T. Zorn, of Hemet, CA; sister-in-law, Marcia (Jack) Whitmer, of Ames, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her loving husband of 61 years, Orval; her parents; and brother, Theodore Kamps, Jr.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, May 23, 2014, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Living Water Lutheran Church, 1585 S. Oakwood Rd. Oshkosh. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor John Dorn officiating. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Coleman.

Gwendy 's family would like to thank the staff at Eastbrooke Manor for their patient, loving care for the past four years; and Pastor John Dorn for his spiritual guidance and frequent visits to Mom. Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne (920-582-4242) is assisting the family. If you wish, please submit online condolences to muellerfuneralhomeinc.com
