Michelle M. (Carter) Buckley died on May 2, at The MotherBaby Center in Minneapolis, Minn, from a rare complication of childbirth called amniotic embolism. Her baby, Frieda Michelle, was born unharmed.
She is survived by her husband, Christopher, and their two children, Leif, age 4, and baby Frieda; her parents, Stephen and Monica Carter of Peshtigo; two sisters, Mariel Carter (Karl Jaeger) of Peshtigo, and Andrea Carter, Austin, Tex.; Christopher's parents, Barb (Bill) Howard of Minneapolis, Minn., and Terry Buckley of Dallas, Tex.; two sisters-in-law, Alyssa of Winona, Minn., and Shannon of New York, NY.; three nieces, one nephew; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends.
She was a terrific mom, was well loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A celebration and remembrance of her life was held Friday, May 9, in Minneapolis. A memorial fund for her children's education has been established in her name.
