Willard J. Deprey, 85, of Lena, passed away Thursday, May 22.
Born Sept. 20, 1928 in Oostburg, to John and Martha (Kobus) Deprey, on July 11, 1953 he married Beatrice Schlader at St. Peters Catholic Church, Oconto. She preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 2008. He worked at Standard Oil Station in Abrams from 1954-1962 and then worked as a mechanic at Fort Howard Paper until his retirement. The couple was involved in foster care for many years.
Survivors include three children, Robert Bobby Deprey and Mary Jane (Robert) Meyer, of Lena and Betsiann (Keith) Vohwinkel, of Detroit, Mi.; two grandchildren; extended family, Angel Monfort, Oconto and Marc Monfort, Oconto Falls; a brother, Gene Deprey, Oconto Falls and a sister, Rose Bowen, Oconto.
Friends may call at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, Oconto from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, with a 7 p.m. wake service. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 30 at St. Patricks Church in Stiles. Fr. Joel Sember will officiate with burial in Oconto Catholic Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Jones-Modrow Young American Legion Post #74, Oconto.
