Hans W. Nor,100 years old, a well known Town of Grover centennerian, passed away Tuesday, May 20 at Rennes Health Center-West.
Born May 31, 1913, in the Town of Grover, to John C. and Louise (Schoenfeld) Nor, he attended Teachers College in Marinette. He married the former Lorraine A. Blucher on Nov. 4, 1944 and she preceded him in death Jan. 27, 2007. He worked on the family farm all his life, which was established in 1883 and also worked at the Sugar Beet Factory in Menominee.
He was an avid sports fan, listened to the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers on the radio, was a hard working farmer, drove tractor up until the age of 89 and loved and was proud of his family.
He is survived by three children; Pat (Linda) Nor, of Marinette, Nancy (Keith) Hartwig and Steve (Jill) Nor, both of Peshtigo; eight grandchildren; a step-grandchild; five great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorraine; a sister, Mildred Smith; an infant brother, Lloyd; his sister and brother-in-law; a niece and a grandson, Kevin Hartwig.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 31 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Peshtigo with visitation at 9 a.m. until time of a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Rev. Father Robert Karuhn will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Peshtigo. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
