Helen M. Sis Pillsbury, 84, of Oconto, passed away Sunday, June 1 at home with family members at her side.
Born Aug. 4, 1929 in Peshtigo to Charles and Margaret (Elert) Spangenberg, she attended Peshtigo Elementary and High School and married George Frank Pillsbury on July 23, 1949. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1992.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, helping with church activities and trips to the Island with special friend, Jo.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Gary) Bancroft, Oconto; two sons, Dan (Sherry) Pillsbury, Oconto and Michael (Ann) Pillsbury, Pulaski; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Mary) Spangenberg, Peshtigo; four sisters-in-law, Alma Strege, Bernadine Pillsbury, Lois Spangenberg and Jeannine Ehman; several nieces; nephews and special friend, Jim Miller. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren and Paul and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 5. Visitation will continue at United Methodist Church on Friday, June 6 from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral services at 11 a.m. Rev. Gerhardt Miller and Rev. Frederik Schulz will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
