SC Fire, Rescue Auxiliary Presents Two Scholarships
The Monday, June 9th meeting of the Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Auxiliary was brought to order by President Dee Farley. Rick Bub gave an update of the Silver Cliff Rescue Squad activities along with an informational presentation of the signs and symptoms of a stroke and the importance of recognition and immediate treatment of stroke victims. Farley, right, presented a $500 scholarship certificate to Abigail Schaal, left. She plans to study nursing at Nicolet Area Technical College in Rhinelander The other scholarship recipient, Austin Guarniere, who plans to attend UW-Milwaukee, was unable to be at the meeting.
Plans for the groups 37th annual picnic on Aug. 9, included reports from Committee chairpersons. Members of the community are invited to participate in the parade. There will be trophies awarded for the best floats. If questions about the parade contact the Parade Marshal, Paul Farley at 715-757-3922. Dan and Carol Betts will be Grand Marshals.
Proceeds from the picnic which follows the parade are used primarily to support the Silver Cliff Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
The meeting continued with a Round Table Discussion by members. The next meeting will be held on July 14th at 9 AM at the Town Hall. Area ladies interested in joining the group are encouraged to attend.
