Donald R. Kopecky
Donald R. Kopecky, 83, of Carney, MI, passed away on Wednesday June 4, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility. Born on Dec. 25, 1930 in Eagle, to the late Emil and Frances (Zajeck) Kopecky, he served in the United States Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict. On April 15, 1953 he married the former Violet LaFave in Spalding, MI. and worked for many years as a forklift driver for Guard Pallet Company. He enjoyed farming, bird watching, hunting and being in the outdoors, traveling the south through Kentucky and Tennessee, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family. He was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Violet of Carney; daughter, Linda (David) Miller of Wallace; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two sisters, Lorraine Anders of Carney, MI and Gladys Waranius of Fond du lac.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Kopecky.
Family received friends at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Nadeau on Saturday, June 7 after 11 am until time of Military Rites at 12:30 pm followed by Mass of Christian Burial with Father Michael Vichich officiating. Burial followed in Nadeau Township Cemetery. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
