Church Gets New Chimes for Organ
Organ chimes will once again ring in Peace Church, Marinette, sanctuary after a new set of slightly used chimes is installed. At a special congregational meeting on May 26, members voted to purchase the chimes to add to the 1920s era Moller organ that has graced the sanctuary since 1986. The organ is a memorial to the life and ministry of First Reformed United Church of Christ in Porterfield.
Phil Swartz, an organ builder-servicer who has maintained the organ for about three years, will install the new chimes and pledges so far come to $3,250.
