Florence M. Lipinski
Florence M. Lipinski, 91, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, June 18, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich.
Born Oct. 11, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of Frank and Mary (Fruzen) Krusinski, and married John Lipinski on Dec. 30, 1940, in Chicago. They moved to Florence in 1946, and she worked for the Florence Villa Nursing Home for 15 years. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2000.
A member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence and the Altar Society, she enjoyed playing bingo and her trips to the casino but especially spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, John J. (Annette) Lipinski, Jr., Haughton, La. and Mike (Mona) Lipinski, Pound; two daughters, Pat (Paul) Wender, Iron Mountain,and Diane (Steve) Simbob, Crystal Falls; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Ann Lipinski; four brothers, Richard, George, Roman and Matt Krusinski; two sisters, Evelyn Smith and Gertrude Barnett.
Visitation was Saturday, June 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. Prayers were recited at 10:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence. Rev. Fr. Matt Settle officiated. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Commonwealth.
