Jeanne A. (Barnell) Zahn
Jeanne A. Zahn, 89, of Suring, passed away Wednesday, June 18.
Born in North Platte, Neb., Nov. 6, 1924, to Jesse and Lora (Plummer) Barnell, she married Melvin J. Zahn May 23, 1946 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Suring. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1992.
Active with the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #283, she served on the Suring Election Board for many years, was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Suring and served on its Finance Committee.
She is survived by two daughters, Gloria (Lee) Suring and Cindy Zahn, both of Suring; two sons, Michael (Karen) Zahn, of Mountain and Jerry (Sally) Weber, of Franklin, Tx.; a sister, Lois Phelps, of Loveland, Co.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Zahn, of Suring; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Barnell and a sister, Betty Stoner.
Visitation will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Suring on Thursday, June 26 from 9:30 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 11a.m., with Pastor Michael Paholke officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Lutheran Cemetery next to her husband. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Suring.
