Patrick W. Smiltneek, 87, of Stephenson, Mi., passed away Friday, June 27 at Roubal Care and Rehab Center.
Born May 31, 1927 in Talbot, Mi., to Patrick J. and Charlotte (Hubbard) Smiltneek, he farmed and worked part time for Petersons Fence in Carney. In his spare time, he worked in the woods, hunted whitetail deer, fished or did woodworking. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church.
He is survived by a brother, Norbert Smiltneek, of Franklin; a sister, Helene Smiltneek, of Menominee, Mi.; a sister-in-law, Mary Smiltneek, of Milwaukee; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Materna and Bernice Hayes and a brother, Ralmond RJ Smiltneek.
Visitation was held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Monday, June 30 at 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 4 p.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church. Fr. Ronald Timock officiated with burial in Stephenson Township Cemetery.
