Coleman Fire Dept. 19th Annual Parade, Picnic
The 19th annual Coleman Area Volunteer Fire Department parade and picnic is Friday and Saturday, July 18-19.
The parade is Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Coleman High School, go down Cty. CP and end at West Main St. by Sunset St. The theme is Into the Future For more information call Julie at the Coleman Municipal Building 920-897-2234. Forms for parade are available at the Municipal Building and Steiners BP in Coleman.
Cost to sponsor a bike in memory of or business name is $75. Bike sign up is at the ball park from 12:15 to 1 p.m. for ages 2-13. Call the Municipal Building for bike sponsors.
The picnic starts Friday, July 18 with softball games and music by DJ Music Match 54 from 7 to 11 p.m.
Picnic activities continue on Saturday, July 19 with softball, volleyball, bean bag toss, Musical Brass from 1-5 p.m. and Daze 2 Nights 7 to 11 p.m., bounce houses, food and refreshments.
The main raffle drawing is at 9 p.m. and fireworks are at dusk.
Horseshoes, classic cars and tractor show are also planned.
The Bean Bag Toss Tournament will be held by the horseshoe pit. There will be 16 teams with double elimination, 100% payout and cost is $20 per team. Starting time is Saturday at 12:30 p.m. with team meeting at noon. Contact Pat Maye at 715-938-0568 or Mark Patz at 920-392-4310 to sign up.
Parade entry fee will be $20 per float or organization with plaques awarded after the parade for agriculture, business, club/organization, church, horses, humor and semi. Parade Marshal is Jerry Salewski, a life time resident of Coleman. He joined the Coleman Fire Department in 1966 and is a current member with 48 years of service.
He recently retired after 22 years at Krueger's Custom Homes and prior to that worked at Chadwick Mfg. Co. for 10 years. He also coached Little League for 10 years, the ladies Softball team from Coleman Products and also was a member of the Coleman Rescue Squad for about 10 years.
