Silver Cliff Fire/Rescue Auxiliary Picnic Aug. 9th
The Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue auxiliary will host their 37th annual fund raising picnic on Saturday, Aug. 9 at the Silver Cliff Memorial Picnic Grounds, located 25 miles northwest of Crivitz at County C and County I, formerly Parkway Road North.
The parade will begin at 10 AM at County C and Landing 11 Road at Silver Cliff Campground. Anyone interested in entering a unit for the parade, contact Paul Farley at 715-757-3922. The park is ATV accessible and there is a designated area for parking. Trophies will be awarded for the best floats.
The picnic is scheduled from 11 AM to 6 PM. A drawing for an all cash raffle will be held at 6 PM. Winners do not need to be present. Tickets can be purchased from area merchants and Auxiliary members. The cash prizes are $1000, $600, $500, $400, $300 and $200.
The food booth will sell burgers, brats, Italian sausage and French fries. Chicken booyah will be available and the Snack Shack will offer, funnel cakes, nachos, popcorn and ice cream. Refreshments will also be available
There will be music all afternoon. Adult games will include paddle wheel, 50/50 raffle, cards, horseshoes and more. There will be a variety of children's games as well as face painting.
Betty's Country Store will feature home baked and canned goods, fresh produce, plants and crafts. This year, auxiliary members are requesting clean, gently used purses and jewelry. Anyone interested in donating items can call Sue Vandenberg at 715-757-2864 or Sandy DeGoey at 715-757-2077, or bring priced items to the Country Store on the day of the picnic.
Shirts "N" Things will sell shirts, sweatshirts, can coolers and vehicle decals. There will be a booth with printed information and brochures about area sponsors.
The Silver Cliff Fire Department and Rescue Squad will have their trucks and equipment on display and Rescue Squad members will do blood pressure checks. The Fire Department will feature competitive water fights with area fire departments after noon. There will also be a water competition for children.
Picnic proceeds provide financial support to the Silver Cliff Fire Department and the Silver Cliff Rescue Squad. The public is welcome to attend.
