List Winners in Big Coleman Fire Dept. Parade, Picnic
The Coleman Area Volunteer Fire Department annual Parade and Picnic held on Friday and Saturday, July 18-19 was a big success.
The picnic started Friday night with an eight team softball tournament and ended on Saturday. The top three teams were 1st-Jiz #1, 2nd-Barnstormers #2 and 3rd was Jiz #1. Balls for the tournament were provided by the Coleman Softball Association.
The theme for Saturdays Parade was Into the Future. Winners in the several categories were Business-1st prize Dan Risner, 2nd to The Station House Restaurant, and Pelkins Piggly Wiggly took third. In Humor category was Leannes Green Lantern, Agriculture-Riesterer & Schnell, Church-Trinity Lutheran, Club/Organization-Coleman Pound Library and Semis-Boerschingers.
A Classic Car and Tractor Show took place on the picnic grounds. Spectators Choice Winners of the Car Show were: Tim Boerschinger (1972 Chevelle SS Convertible), Dick Myers (1966 Cobra), Jeff Krueger (1965 Impala Convertible) and Richard Brazeau (1984 Oldsmobile Toronado).
Spectators Choice Winners of the Tractor Show were: Mitchell Bushmaker (1954 FarmAll Super C), Matt Behringer (1944 John Deere H) and Richard Gendron (1939 John Deere Model B).
Sponsors of the Car and Tractor Show were: Kudicks Auto, Village Suites, Gendrons, CarQuest Auto Parts, Grubers Garage and Krueger Custom Homes.
The Bean Bag Toss Tournament winners were: 1st to Mark Patz and Cal Makos, 2nd place-Andy and Scott and in 3rd place were Bill and Laura.
The Volleyball Tournament was spread over 3 courts and games were played throughout the day. Final winners were: 1st -Safe Sets, 2nd-Team Coleman and 3rd-Untamed WildeBeasts.
A lawnmower was again raffled off and winner was Roger Dudkiewicz. Other raffles took place during the day.
The main raffle drawing was held at 9 pm. Top prize of $1000 went to Gary Wendt, $800 to Joe Becker, $500 to Tiffany Dufeck, $450 to Tom Reed, $350 to Don Bader, $250 to Pat and Sue Maye, $150 each to Jeremy Hoida, Don Bader, G. Connick, Michael C. Pellman, and Jerry Zeitler. Getting $100 were Jeff Nowak, Kollin and Kolton Peters, Karson Casper, Tammy Zeitler, Randy Doege, Jerry Kronk, Linda Pellman, to Kathy Jo Kostrova and Dan and Julia Rysewyk. Everyone who supported the Fire Department parade and picnic are thanked.
