Kathleen Ann Thomas, 71, Peshtigo, died at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette on Saturday, July 19.
Born Nov. 25, 1942 in Menominee, Mich. to Walter and Ethel (Tootie) Strojny, she graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1961, then from Spencerian Business College of Milwaukee in 1963 as a court reporter/legal secretary. On June 22, 1963 she married Gene Thomas of Peshtigo and recently celebrated 51 years of marriage.
She worked as a secretary in the Civil Engineering Department at Michigan Tech while her husband attended college there and spent the balance of her working career as office manager/bookkeeper for Thomas Well Drilling of Peshtigo, then as a caregiver for her mother and father-in-law. She will be remembered for her love of gardening, snowmobiling and knitting for her grandchildren and others.
Survivors include her husband, Gene; son, Scott (Angela) Thomas of Peshtigo; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; daughter-in-law, Annette Thomas of Plymouth; sister, Jane Gignac of Peshtigo; and brother, Gary (Lois) Strojny of Suamico.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey; a brother, Daniel; her parents; and mother and father-in-law.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no services.
