James "Grandpa Jim" R. Ausloos, 70, of Oakfield, passed away July 20, unexpectedly at his home with family by his side.
Born June 22, 1944, to Melvin and Mary (LeBreck) Ausloos, in Oconto, he graduated from Oconto High School in 1962. He married Mary Helen Collien on May 22, 1965 at St. James Catholic Church in Oakfield, where they have been lifelong members. He served a four year machinist apprenticeship at Nordberg Mfg. in Milwaukee before joining the Wisconsin State Patrol as a trooper. He retired from the State Patrol in June of 1998 after 30 years of service.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed going to Lake Erie walleye fishing with his family and also enjoyed being at his son 's cabin with his family at Glidden.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, Brian James (Tina) Ausloos; two grandsons; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Collien; sisters, Janice Barr, Oconto, Bonnie (Roger) Pagel, Abrams and Dawn (Dr. Todd) Schroeder, Manitowoc; in-laws, Dale (Susan) Collien, of Fond du lac; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Milton "Bud" Collien and a nephew, Matthew Pagel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, from 3 p.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. at Sons of Zebedee St. James Catholic Church in Oakfield. Rev. Fr. Michael Peterson will officiate with burial in St. John Cemetery in Byron on Friday, July 25. Koepsell Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Mayville is assisting the family with arrangements.
