80 Year Old Bikes 80 Miles
BIRTHDAY BIKERGary Moffatt who turns 80 years old on Thursday, July 31st has been a passionate bike rider for many years. Ten years ago he rode 70 miles on his 70th birthday. He had back surgery several years ago and didnt think he could ever ride again. His goal since his surgery was to ride 80 miles on his 80th birthday. On July 26th, he did just that. He mapped out his own scenic route including rest stops and a lunch break. Twenty-one of his family and friends joined along the ride. Five kickstands assisted with the lunch and rest stops. The elite 8 completed the ride. A birthday celebration was held at the East Side Bar and Grill. Determination and hard work made this dream become a reality. Gary Moffatt is shown in the center of the photo with some of those who accompanied him on the 80-mile bike trip. Also pictured are from left, Jim Borkowski, Bob Matecki, Greg Moffatt, Gary Moffatt, and right front are Jackie Seid and Melissa Dura, and back are Kevin and Connie Field.
