THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Marlene (Nyquist) Anderson Compney, 71, of Wallace, MIi., passed away Friday, Aug. 1 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility.
Born Jan. 11, 1943 in Marinette, to Otto and Mabel (Dagger) Nyquist, in 1960 she married Ronald Anderson and he preceded her in death in 1986. In 1991, she married Ronald Compney and he preceded her in death in 1993. She owned and operated the Stephenson Bakery from 1969 to 2000, where she was known as Ma Bun.
A member of the Stephenson Assembly of God, Red Hat Society, and active in the Stephenson Booster Club, she enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adeline's and enjoyed her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Jeff, Dan and Bill Anderson; step-children, Michael, Marla and Vicki; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren and brothers, Frosty (Dort) Parish, of Jupiter, Fla. and Jim Nyquist, of Marinette.
She was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Jill Anderson; a brother, Buck Parish; and sisters, Jean Soderberg, Virginia Mitchell and Irene Parish.
Visitation will be held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 8 from 6 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Mellen Township Cemetery.
