Silver Cliff Fire, Rescue Big Fundraiser Winners
The Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Auxiliary's 37th annual fundraising picnic held on Saturday, Aug. 9 at the Silver Cliff Memorial Picnic Grounds was a big success.
A parade, which started at 10 AM had floats, antique cars, tractors and four wheelers included. Area fire trucks, as well as Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue vehicles, led the parade, immediately following the marching Athelstane-Silver Cliff Legion and Auxiliary.
Trophies were awarded to participating floats. First place went to CNC Charters and second to Iron Snowshoe. Two trophies were awarded to the Best in Class; Dick Tachek driving his family in and on an antique car and Don Gilbertson on an antique tractor.
Grand Marshals were Carol and Dan Betts, both very active members of the Town of Silver Cliff.
Gail Van Ark won $805 in the first 50/50 raffle and Steve Gretz won $515 in the second 50/50 raffle.
General raffle ticket winners were $1000 to Chris Mitchell of Oakland, Ill.; $600 to Dennis Zeske of Crivitz; $500 to Mary DePrey of Green Bay; $400 to Dean Wheelock of Silver Cliff ; $300 to Cassidy Vendertie of DePere and $200 to Richard Nisleir of Silver Cliff.
The fire departments held a water tournament with area departments participating.
Members of the Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Auxiliary thank everyone who helped to plan activities and booths, the workers, attendees and those who helped in any way to make the fundraiser a great success.
