Phyllis M. Dixon
Phyllis M. Dixon age 82, of Niagara, passed away peacefully at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital on Wednesday August 6, 2014.
She was born in Goodman on March 27, 1932; daughter of the late Peter and Althea (Laabs) Marquis. Phyllis was united in marriage to Carl Tom Dixon on January 2, 1951 in Dubuque, Iowa.
She was very well read and enjoyed fishing and traveling with Tom. She also enjoyed berry picking, swimming, biking, golfing, teaching Girl Scouts and was a fabulous cook. In her 40s, after her children left the house she went to beauty school and received her Cosmetology license.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Carl Thomas Dixon Jr. of Niagara; three daughters: Cynthia Ann (Mark) Dixon-Miller of Kingsford, Mary Beth Dixon of Breitung Township, and Jean Marie (Gordon) Macdonald of Highlands Ranch, CO; two grandchildren: Joshua (Kelsey) and Andrew Duncan Macdonald; three brothers and four sisters: Lois Gustafson, Janice (Dick) Holmes, Pat (Ron) Deau, Sherry Dunn, Peter (Pat) Marquis, Stephen Marquis, and Jeff (Dale) Marquis; sister-in-law, Judy Hand; and further survived by nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Audrey Sawyer.
Funeral Services were held at 11 am on Monday August 11, 2014, at the Messar Roubal Funeral Home. Family and friends called from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home on Monday.
