Rita R. Adkins, 76, of Oconto, passed away Monday, Aug. 11, due to complications from a brain aneurysm.
Born Dec. 7, 1937 in Green Bay to Lewis and Esther (Eliason) Lison, she married Bill Adkins on March 25, 1981. She graduated from Green Bay West High School and worked at Wisconsin Public Service, then worked at Alexander & Alexander Insurance, Ramada Inn, Schenck and Associates and was a co-owner of Becks Bakery Lena in the 1970 's. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Little Suamico.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Adkins, Oconto; two daughters, Juli (Tom) Baye, Oconto and Kathie (Bill) Beschta, Lena; a son, John (Joi) Beck, Virginia; two step-daughters, Erin Adkins, Arkansas and Nancy Adkins, Texas; a step-son, David (Tammy) Adkins, Illinois; a sister, Carol Selissen, Green Bay; a sister-in-law, Carol Lison, Green Bay; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Lison; a brother-in-law, Jim Selissen and two husbands, Bill Beck and Dick Machowski.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Little Suamico, from 2 p.m. until time of Memorial Services at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22. Rev. Jerry Wirtley will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Susan G. Komen, Smile Train or St. Judes Childrens Hospital. Gallagher Funeral Home of Oconto is assisting the family with arrangements.
