Marilyn R. ( Buenting) Becker, 80, of Niagara, passed away Friday, Aug. 8 at her home.
Born April 4, 1934 in Kunesh, to Rev. Peter and Sylvia (Vorphal) Buenting, after graduation, she attended Wartburg College for two years. She worked at several occupations including being a ticket agent for Northwest Airline in Chicago.
She married Eugene "Geno" Becker in Detroit on Jan. 30, 1987 and they moved to Niagara in 1998. He preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 2012. A member of First Lutheran Church of Iron Mountain, she was involved with the Stephen Ministries for many years.
She is survived by a son, Peter, of Wayne, Mi.; a sister, Doloris Ruechel, of Niagara; a brother, Rev. Howard (Roberta) Buenting, of Shawano; a sister-in-law, Patricia Buenting, of Perrysville, Oh.; a godchild-niece; many other nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church of Iron Mountain, with Rev. James Lindgren officiating. A luncheon followed the service. Erickson Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain assisted the family with arrangements.
