In the past, a Cedar River Bridge Walk Queen was chosen from the Cedar River, Mich. vicinity based on a deserving matriarch with qualities that benefited family, friends, and community; many provided a service.
Identity of the bridge walk royalty was always a tightly held secret by the Cedar River Bridge Walk Committee and clues were rarely given. However, this year the committee believes they have a real baffle and are releasing a few clues.
The Cedar River Bridge Walk takes place on Sunday, Aug. 31 of Labor Day weekend. The royal coronation will begin at 11 a.m. at the Lighthouse Pub and Grill with the bridge walk following.
The event is a family fun day with blow-up slides, games for the kids, dunk tank and the mouse game, a betting game fun to play at any age; D.J., food, pop, and beer available.
The Cedarville Township Volunteer Fire Department sponsors the fundraiser for needed equipment and training.
