Michael J. Dobbins, 57, of Marinette, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26 at Aurora Baycare in Green Bay.
Born June 20, 1957, to George and Janet (Stang) Dobbins in Marinette, he attended Marinette High School and UW-Marinette. He worked in construction for a while and then served in the United States Navy from 1988 to 1994. After service, he worked as an X-ray Technician in California and Washington. He moved back to Marinette in 1998, and worked as a welder at various locations.
He was a jack of all trades, enjoyed astronomy, gardening, wine making, fishing, spending time outdoors, photography, especially of the Menominee Lighthouse and spoiling his grandchildren.
He is survived by a son, Michael Dobbins II, of Menominee; two daughters, Chassidy Dobbins, of Marinette and Mary Dobbins, of Clinton; three brothers, Steven, of Crivitz, George (Linda) of DeForest and Tom (Kim), of Marinette; two sisters, Donna Hruska, of Mobile, Al. and Mary Kay Dobbins, of Green Bay; five grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Scott and infant sister, Debra Jean.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
