Lake Noquebay Topic of Meeting

The Loomis Historical Society will meet on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 1 p.m. at the Lake Town Hall to make final plans for Loomis Days, which will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 12:30 p.m.
After the business meeting, John Deschane, curator of the Crivitz-Stephenson Historical Society, will give a presentation on the history and background of Lake Noquebay. His talk will include information on the annual wild rice harvests by the early Menominee Indian tribe and also how tourism affected the area.
Members who have any information or pictures pertaining to Lake Noquebay are asked to bring them to the meeting. Anyone interested in attending is welcomed. Lunch will be provided by Loretta Humphrey and Tina Nelson. For more information, call Pat Kaufman at 715-854-2997.
