In the article "Stephenson Board Approves Rescue Squad Contracts" (Peshtigo Times 2/15/2017), Supervisor Solway wants to add a page in the Town of Stephenson Code of Ordinances stating that where the term "Director of Public Works" appears in the Code, this really means "Superintendent of Public Works". The purpose of this "page" is to eliminate confusion.
Now I am really confused. If you read the Town of Stephenson's Code of Ordinances, Updated 11/06/2015, Section 15 Building Codes, references Wisconsin Department of Commerce Chapters 16, 17, 20-25, 26, 67, 69, 70, 81-86 (Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code). The Wisconsin Department of Commerce has not existed since midnight 6/30/2011. The Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code has been a part of the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services since July 1, 2011 as Chapters SPS 320-325.
Since there is not a page in the Town of Stephenson's Code of Ordinances stating Commerce has been repealed and replaced by Safety and Professional Services, does the Town of Stephenson really have any authority to try to enforce Section 15 of their Code of Ordinances? I have been asking this question since 2013 and the Town of Stephenson has never been willing to give me an answer.
