Elsie M. Koller
Elsie M. (Anderson) Koller, 99 of Stevens Point, passed away Sunday, March 12, with family by her side.
Born July 5, 1917 in Rockford, Ill., to Godfrey and Esther Anderson, she graduated from Oconto High School in 1935 and married Michael T. Koller on Aug. 10, 1936 in Oconto. He preceded her in death in 1986. She lived most of her life in Peshtigo and the last 10 years in Stevens Point with her daughter, Jean Vande Laarschot.
A member of Zion Lutheran Church in Peshtigo and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stevens Point, while at Zion, she was a charter member of the Ladies Aid, belonged to the church choir and helped at dinners and funerals for many years.
She enjoyed going to the Senior Center in Peshtigo and the Lincoln Center in Stevens Point where she became a master of Scrabble. A homemaker, she also enjoyed baking, playing cards, board games, dancing and gardening, but mostly loved pontooning at her daughter's cottage, campfires with 'S'mores, and time with her family.
She is survived by three children, Michael (Dee) Koller and Dan (Peggy) Koller, both of Green Bay and Jean Vande Laarschot of Stevens Point; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Along with her parents and husband, Michael, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tracy Sommers of Milwaukee and two siblings, Elna Munsey of Florida in 1995 and Elmer Anderson of Oconto in 2008.
Visitation will be held at Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Road, Plover on Wednesday, March 15 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday, March 16 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1919 Wyatt Ave., Stevens Point, with Pastor Steve Hulke officiating. Burial will take place in Spring at Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Marinette. Pisarski Funeral Homes of Plover are assisting the family with arrangements.
