THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE

To the Editor:
Lack of sportsmanship in high school sports is growing throughout our country, even in the M&O conference.
I bring this up because at the Feb. 17 home game of girls basketball at Wausaukee between the Lady Rangers and the Niagara Lady Badgers, an incident happened that went way too far, and made me feel disgraced to be a Ranger fan. One of our fans taunted one of the Niagara players with comments many would consider racially motivated.
The comment directed at this young lady was totally wrong to do. These kind of actions do not belong in high school sports, or anywhere for that matter. So on behalf of the good students and fans in Wausaukee, I apologize to the young lady and Niagara Girls Basketball team.
It's time for fans, parents, students, and schools to put a stop to these kind of actions. To turn a blind eye to racist comments is just as bad as racism.
