Girls/Boys Track Teams Compete In OshkoshIssue Date: March 29, 2017
Peshtigo, Suring, and Oconto's girls' track teams traveled down to UW-Oshkosh Tuesday night for the Oshkosh High School Indoor Invitational. Suring finished the meet with eight team points, good for 21st place overall.
Scoring those eight points was Suring senior Katie Stegeman in the high jump. Stegeman earned second place by posting a 5-foot leap, just behind Luxemburg-Casco's Mackenzie Tuttle who jumped a 5-foot-2-inch mark. Also in the high jump, Eagle Jazmine Chesterfield finished tied for twelfth with a 4-foot-6-inch jump. Suring's Blake Seppel finished 13th in the long jump with a 14-foot-8-inch mark. Linzy Runge's time of 11.48 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles was good for 19th place for Suring.
Peshtigo's Alana Finger finished 14th in the 400-meter dash by posting a 1:08.07 time. In the shot put, Bulldog Lexi Tharp tossed a 30-foot-8.5-inch length which was good for 19th place. Peshtigo's 4x200 relay team posted a time of 2:05.98, which edged Suring's team that recorded a 2:06.54, each team finished 25th and 26th respectively.
Oconto finished the meet with two team points, good for 32nd place. Those two points were scored by Megan Hoffman in the pole vault event, in which she finished seventh with an eight-foot-six-inch mark. Isabella Burrows finished 38th in the 800-meter run with a 2:52.29 time.

Oshkosh Invite, Held
In the Oshkosh High School Indoor Invitational, which was held March 16th, Peshtigo, Oconto Falls and Oconto all took part in the Division 2 group. In Division 3's group, the Suring Eagles took part in the action.
Peshtigo's Connor Smith and Jerod Jandt each took part in the 60-meter dash, Smith posted a 7.38 and Jandt had a 7.54. Oconto Falls' Aaron Kurth finished in fourth place for the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.60 seconds. Noah Ludemann, also for the Falls, recorded a time of 4:53.37 in the 1600-meter run, in which he took sixth place. Also in the 1600-meter run, Peshtigo's Cole Trimberger finished 12th with a 5:08.61 and Reid Marquardt finished 18th with a 5:17.17. In the 3200-meter run, Oconto Falls' Evan Konitzer placed third with a 10:23.70, Peshtigo's Trimberger finished 11th with 11:19.53. The 4x200 meter relay team for Peshtigo, comprised of Jeremy VanVooren, Jerod Jandt, Joey Bradley and Connor Smith took second place with a time of 1:35.92. The same foursome tackled the 4x400 and finished third with a 3:35.79. Joe Sodini, of Peshtigo, jumped 5-feet-10-inches in the high jump, good for ninth. In the triple jump, Peshtigo's Connor Smith earned second place with a 40-feet-11.25-inch jump.
In Division 3 action, Will Vollmar's time of 7.50 seconds was good for fifth place in the 60-meter dash. Suring's Chris Geniesse edged out his teammate Connor Geise in the 800-meter run with a 2:18.81 for fifth place, Geise got sixth with 2:19.62. Geniesse placed fifth in the 1600-meter run with a 5:04.87, and Scout Gerndt finished ninth in the same race with a 5:19.90. Gerndt's 11:09.80 in the 3200-meter run earned a fifth-place finish. In the 60-meter hurdles, Mitch Stegeman's time of 10.03 was good for fourth and Logan Stuart ran a 11.28 for seventh-place. Suring's 4x200 meter relay team finished fifth with a 1:43.66. John Christensen and Mitch Stegeman finished 1-2 in the high jump, Christensen jumped 6-feet-4-inches and Stegeman jumped 5-feet-10-inches. Stegeman also placed fifth in the pole vault with 11-feet-6-inches and Preston Fisher finished sixth with 8-feet-6-inches. Vollmar earned himself a fourth place finish in the triple jump with a 19-feet-2-inch mark. In the shot put, John Miller finished second with a throw of 43-feet-9-inches and Cody Johnson finished fifth with 42-feet-9-inches.
