Rosalie Ann (Simkowski) Nichols, 73, of Peshtigo, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Bay Area Medical Center with her husband at her side.
Born Nov. 16, 1943 in Norway, Mi., to the late Ed and Evelyn (Anderson) Simkowski, she graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1961 and married Edward Nichols on Nov. 16, 1989 and they were together for 28 years and had a combined family of seven children.
One-of-a-kind" Rosie`s kitchen was never closed, her door was always open, her thumb was "green" and her heart full of generosity. She devoted her time and energy as caregiver to family members and friends and enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Edward of Peshtigo; six children, Thomas (Ann) Carlson and Shad Opolka, both of Gladstone, Mi. and Johnathan Nichols and Adam Nichols, both of Peshtigo, Jill Carlson of Norway, Mi. and Theresa Nichols of Crivitz; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Simkowski of Kingsford, Mi. and a sister, Rebecca (Ron) Tortelli of Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 20 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 411 McAllister St., Marinette at 1:30 p.m., followed by a small luncheon at City Park in Marinette. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo is assisting the family with arrangements.
