Gary L. Currie
Gary L. Currie, 72, of Oconto Falls, passed away Wednesday, May 10 in Green Bay.
Born March 11, 1945 in St. Ignace, to the late Roy and Rose (Cush) Currie, he received an associate degree from Marquette University, where he met Nancy Seidel in 1965 and they married three months later. They shared 51 years together and had four children. He worked as a logger and later as a machinist at O&E Machine, where he retired from after 30 years.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years, playing his guitar by a bonfire, trips to the casino, cheering on the Packers, relaxing with his two dogs and watching wildlife. He was a loving husband and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; four children, Sherry (Sam) Scimemi, Gary W. (Becky) Currie, Marsha (Rudy) Leroy and Jason (Peggy) Currie; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Currie, Stella Currie and Sally (Bob) Kulhanek; brother-in-law, Victor Seidel; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Leanne Leroy; two sisters, Barbara (Forest) Lee and Margaret Currie; eight brothers, Leroy, Robert, Walter, Charles, Ryan, Ronald, Donald and Raymond Currie and his mother and father-in-law, Victor and Doris Seidel.
Visitation was held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Green Bay on Monday, May 15 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation continued at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., followed by a funeral service at noon. Interment was in Stiles Town Cemetery.
