Patricia A. (McDermott) Bayer, 76, of Peshtigo, passed away July 30, 2017 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.
Born March 22, 1941, to the late John and Esther (Magee) McDermott, she married Joseph J. Bayer on Sept. 17, 1960 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Klondike and he preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 2006.
The couple owned and operated the Stephenson Motel for 10 years and she also worked at Culver's.
A member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar Society and the choir, she enjoyed sewing, cooking and being a 4-H leader.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph P. (Sandy) Bayer of Peshtigo and Travis Bayer of Marinette (special friend, Marites); four daughters, Sara (Tom) Van Beek, Lisa (Bill) Drees and Dona (Tim) Thill, all of Peshtigo and Tina (Kevin) Ahrens of Alpharetta, Ga.; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Janet (Jim) Belongia of Oconto.
Along with her parents and her husband, Joseph, she was preceded in death by a brother, John (Chuckie) McDermott.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Peshtigo on Thursday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Fr. Jess Berdol and Fr. John Harper concelebrating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo is assisting the family with arrangements.
