Thomas A. Schumacher
Thomas A. "Shoey" Schumacher, 73, of Green Bay, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.
Born Sept. 22, 1943 in Oconto, to the late Alois and Eleanor (Curran) Schumacher, he graduated from Oconto High School in 1961. He married Sue Livermore on Sept. 28, 1963 and she preceded him in death on July 9, 2005.
He worked as a millwright for Proctor and Gamble for 32 years, was president and vice-president of Local 65 United Paperworkers Union International and a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Ashwaubenon.
He is survived by a daughter, Jane (Bill VanEss) Schumacher, Little Suamico; a son, Steven Schumacher, Howard; two sisters, Barbara Hollihan, Oconto and Lynn (James) Follett, Ashwaubenon; a brother, James (Trish) Schumacher, Florida; two grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Sandra (Mitchell) McQueen and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Topel.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S. Oneida Street, Green Bay on Friday, Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Rev. Mike Ingold will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Oconto at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated. Gallagher Funeral Home of Oconto is assisting the family with arrangements.
