Issue Date: August 9, 2017
Brian Cameron Stewart, Jr., 50, passed away Tuesdy, Aug. 1, 2017, surrounded by family and friends.
Born Feb. 20, 1967 in Greenock, Scotland, he was an avid sports fan and exelled in football, baseball and boxing. He was fast and feisty and his love for sports continued after his playing days passed.
As life of the party, his fighting spirit and strong heart were steadfast and he was disheartened when his battle with cancer led to his resignation at Great Lakes Foods where he was a great worker and friend to his co-workers. As he battled cancer, he would often say the phrase "eye of the tiger," which became the family motto. A true Scotsman, he fought until the very end and his spirit lives in all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by immediate family members: his mother, Margaret Norton; his father, Brian (Saras) Stewart; two brothers, Gary (Allison) Stewart and Justin Norton; a sister, Bonnie Betzinger; his fiancee, Katy Bauer and her daughters, Cassie and Carly; the Jagielski family; Nora and Skip Plym; Tim Bauer; nieces, Allia, Avrie and Cameron; nephews, Kyle and Connor and many extended family members and friends in the United States and his Scottish family overseas.
He was preceded in death by his Nanny Murphy.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee on Saturday, Aug. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to join in a celebration of his life during that time.
